Restylane is comprised of biotechnologically engineered, non-immunogenic, stabilized hyaluronic acid gel particles. Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance found in all living organisms and provides volume and fullness to the skin.
Restylane is formulated as a clear gel and uses a dual mechanism of action to correct moderate wrinkles and folds. Upon being injected beneath the skin’s surface, Restylane gel integrates into dermal tissue then attracts and binds to water molecules to help maintain volume. Restylane is gradually degraded by the body’s own mechanism and disappears without any residue. Results can be seen immediately following Restylane injections.
Restylane Refyne and Defyne are the newest addition to Galderma’s arsenal of anti-aging treatments. They are billed as the next generation of hyaluronic acid fillers in the fight against laugh lines. Restylane Refyne was approved to treat moderate wrinkles and folds from the nose to mouth, while Restylane Defyne is meant to plump and fill deep-set lines without the typical swelling seen in other products.
While there are other fillers on the market that can plump wrinkles, Refyne and Defyne are meant to give a more natural-looking result than previously thought possible. Galderma claims results can last up to 12 months. Restylane Lyft improves your appearance by lifting and adding volume to the wrinkles and folds in the treatment area. Restylane Lyft differs from Restylane and Juvederm primarily in the size of the particles and the depth of the required injection. Restylane Lyft, used for deeper wrinkles, has larger particles that are injected deeper into the skin than Restylane or Juvederm.
Restylane Kysse also utilizes Optimal Balance Technology to enhance volume and definition with long-lasting results for the lips compared with other fillers. Restylane Kysse is clinically proven to last for 6-9 months, and some effects have also been seen at 12 months. The unique cross-linking of the hyaluronic acid gel in Restylane Kysse has been specially developed for the treatment of sensitive lips. The hyaluronic acid-based gel softly integrates into the sensitive lip tissue and has been proven to cause little swelling. It contains local anesthetic lidocaine for improved comfort during treatment.
Arnica is to be taken the day before your appointment (a couple of doses) and the morning of your appointment. We have found that there is much less bruising and swelling even with lip injections, thus a more favorable outcome with less down time! Arnica is a naturopathic anti-inflammatory that helps with swelling and bruising. It can be purchased at Sprouts, Whole Foods, any Vitamin Shop like Hi-Health.
